MAJOR PROJECTS

Final year project is design and economic evaluation of a facility producing bio-ethanol from lignocellulosic feedstock. In addition to significance, process selection and material & energy balance, I did process design of adsorber plus its mechanical design, instrumentation of distillation column, HAZOP study of heat exchanger, costing and EIA of the project). Other projects include: • Heat Exchanger process & mechanical design for heating ethanol steam by utility steam • Design of water purification system by using RO in membrane module • Climate Change and Sustainable development • Solar Cooker Design • Biofuels manufacture and usage in Europe

EXPERIENCE

• Working at Engro Chemicals (Formerly Exxon) Pakistan Limited at Daharki Pakistan since 1st Sep 2009. Engro is the leading urea manufacturer of Pakistan and the largest Pakistani industrial group with a diverse range of businesses. Currently, Engro is commissioning the world’s largest urea plant at Daharki, installed by Snamprogetti. I am assigned to Ammonia Plant as a GTE.

INTERNSHIP

• Did 4 weeks internship at DH Chemicals Pakistan (Manufacturers of Urea) located at Sheikupura-Lahore Road in July 2009 where I was assigned Synthesis section of urea section. During my internship I observed and understood the working of compressors, pumps, preheat systems and urea reactor.
